Martha gave her the best gift to Jesus, not only the best, but she humbled herself and honoured him. She honoured him that means he increased; she was humbled; that means she decreases. She has done two precious things one is to pour a precious perfume on his feet, and the second thing is that she wiped his feet with her hair ( hair is her glory). She gave up her pride and worshipping him, honoured him in humility.
God wants us to worship him and honour him as Mary did. He wants us to passionate about loving and honouring him. Mary honoured Jesus when he was with him. We need to serve and honour him whenever we have the opportunity.
When the Lord asked Abraham to sacrifice his son whom God gave after many years without telling anyone he took his son and was ready to sacrifice his son because he knew what God could give if we sacrifice things. We need to sacrifice our precious things to God. This shows that how much do we love Jesus.
In the book of Philippians 3:7, paul says that” but what things were gain to me, those I counted loss for Christ.” because paul knew God’s plan and he can give him …so he gave up his knowledge and wisdom to gain God’s knowledge. So we need to believe that God’s plan is bigger than our problems.
Mary had honoured Jesus so in the book of Matthew chapter 26:13 says that” truly I say to you, wherever this gospel is preached in the whole world, what she has done will also be told in memory of her.”
