Introduction: God ….has been my shepherd all my life to this day. Genesis 48:15. This is the first chapter in the bible.
Let us know more about who is the shepherd of our life in CM Portal.in– online daily bible verse.
Description: This chapter is the conversation between Jacob and his son Joseph. When Jacob became sick, he called out his son, who was missed at childhood. He called his son and his grandchildren to bless them. He blessed his grandchildren by putting his right hand on Manasseh’s head and his left hand on Ephraim’s head and blessed them by saying, “ they shall become the nations and shall be great.”
And he put his hand on Joseph, and he said the God who is with Abraham, Issac. He will be with us and guides us. He has fed me until my birth to old age. He will never leave us. He brought us alive in the hands of the enemy so that he will bless you too.
Jacob had been a shepherd boy who looked after his sheep at his father in law’s house. So he compared the relationship between him and God as that of shepherd and sheep. The shepherd will care for the sheep from birth to old age and guides it day and night. David also a shepherd boy; he too compared the relationship of God as that of sheep and shepherd.
In Hebrews 11:21, Jacob, when dying, according to his faith, blessed each of the sons of Joseph. He said that they would make nations and be a multitude. The firstborn will be blessed with greatness, and the younger one will be blessed more than his brother.
In the bible, many times, we notice the word shepherd, it means the one who looks after us. The only one who always cares about us was Jesus. He is our shepherd, and he gave us life. He is the great shepherd of the sheep, so the Lord has risen him from the dead.
The book of John 10:11-14 says that I am the good shepherd, and he gives life to his sheep. So here Jesus is our shepherd and gives his life to us.if we know him and his father, so that he also knew us. If we know him, we can hear his voice, and he laid down his life for us.
The book of Psalms 80:1 says that “Please listen, O Shepherd of Israel, you who lead Joseph’s descendants like a flock. O God, enthroned above the cherubim, display your radiant glory.” In psalms, 78:52 says that he made his people walk in his ways and guided them like sheep.
Matthew 28:20 says that whenever we obey all the things he has commanded us, he will be with us even unto the end of the world. The book of psalms 23 chapter says that the Lord is our shepherd, we lack nothing, restores the soul, leads unto the righteous path, comforts us, no fear, prepare a table before enemies, anointing our head with oil, his goodness and mercy will follow us forever and ever. We need to dwell in the house of the Lord forever. David wrote this psalm.
